WHAT IS PRFM?
PRFM, platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix, is an advanced technology, which increases cell generation in wounds and improves the development of new blood vessels. A small vial of your blood is drawn during your treatment. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge, where the platelets are separated from the other blood cells and material found within your blood. Then transformed into PRFM, resulting in highly concentrated levels of platelets as well as full complements of blood clotting factors, growth factors, and proteins involved in cell signaling.
Together these powerful elements help your body repair itself, stimulate cell growth and turnover, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin surface texture, and promote volume.
PRP VS PRFM
You might have heard of traditional PRP treatments, or platelet-rich plasma and PRFM, but what exactly is the difference?
Platelet-rich plasma and platelet-rich fibrin matrix and both superior options for healing derived from the same blood cells, and they can both be used in the same cosmetic treatments.
The main difference can be boiled down to the following: PRFM is spun at a lower speed before it is gathered for cosmetic use, there are more growth factors in PRFM than are seen in PRP. Additionally, the lower spin speed causes less trauma to the individual blood cells, allowing more of these beneficial stem cells to remain in the final PRFM product.
